(SWE) invites students, parents, and educators to an amazing hands-on event where girls can learn about engineering in a fun and encouraging environment. Our one-day event is called. Join us Saturday, October 4 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Meet women engineers and learn about all of the opportunities engineering can offer. This is an exciting event for middle school girls (grades 6-8) and high school girls (grades 9-12) as well as their parents and educators. Tickets are $5 to $7.

Schedule All participants spend the morning exploring the learning about engineering clubs, camps, after-school programs, and competitions from a wide variety of exhibitors. In the afternoon, participants work in one of three groups: During our hands-on, engineering experience for girls in middle school grades 6-8. The girls will: • Work with SWE members from around the world on hands-on engineering activities • Meet real engineers and learn what they do • Get an Invent It. T-shirt, bag and lots of other goodies • Be eligible to win raffle prizes • Have lunch with the SWE engineers (lunch provided) Our program for girls in high school grades 9-12 offers students a chance to: • Meet real engineers and learn what they do • Talk with SWE members from around the world about how to navigate a career in a male dominated field, how to select a the right college, where to find scholarships, and how to be a successful engineer • Work on hands-on engineering activities • Get an Invent It. T-shirt, bag and lots of other goodies • Be eligible to win raffle prizes • Have lunch with the SWE engineers (lunch provided) Parent/Educator Program (PEP): parents and educators will: • Learn about engineering careers, scholarships, college admission and resources • Network with SWE members as well as other parents and educators • Participate in a panel discussion with select SWE members and outreach experts • Complete a hands-on activity and learn best practices for doing engineering with girls • Have lunch with the SWE engineers (lunch provided) • Get an Invent It.
