I've always felt that 'Wah Wah' on the red wax was a little bright for my tastes, though I really enjoy the rest of the LP. To me it seems like I'm hearing better overall mid-tones in the official sample. In any case I'll be grabbing the official download when it's released next week. With the soon to be released hi-res download coming up I got to thinking that, after burning the files to a disc, I didn't want to have a blank-faced DVD-A laying about.

I agree that the Toshiba sounds closest to the original, who would have thought that this was not the result of the Japanese tendency towards hair-raising high end.
