I am a firm believer in sustainable and organic farming, so seeing it in action just a short drive outside of the city was an incredible experience. My Blue Hill tour began at the vegetable gardens. I saw everything from tomatoes to beets to wheat to raspberries growing in their natural habitats. I had the opportunity to pick and eat fresh raspberries, which is something you don’t have a chance to do often enough.

I really felt one with nature in a way that I haven’t in so long. I am constantly looking for opportunities to be immersed in nature, but this was really a one-of-a-kind experience. I continued my tour down to the greenhouses which were filled with everything from shishito peppers to fresh basil. You could smell the fresh herbs all around you.

I then walked over to see all the animals raised on the farm. My personal favorite were the ducklings who had just been fed and were all out scarfing up seeds. We ended our visit with the most incredible multi-course meal at the Michelin-starred Blue Hill restaurant.
